Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a lightweight, flexible, and strong material, making it ideal for various fine forming applications.

These sheets are excellent for vacuum forming over concrete or plaster items, or for creating resin casting moulds. They can reproduce the fine details of an object with high precision, similar to the results achieved with silicone. Notably, LDPE is the only vacuum forming material that does not stick to resin (epoxy) objects.

In comparison to silicone moulds, LDPE shells offer significantly greater durability. While silicone moulds typically endure only about 20 uses, LDPE moulds can be reused hundreds of times or even serve as permanent moulds. This makes LDPE a highly cost-effective alternative to silicone.

Extras:

• LDPE can be prone to tearing if the forming pressure exceeds 60 kPa. We recommend appropriately reducing the suction power and using a microporous forming bed add-on for the best results.

• Application temperature: -40 °C - 90 °C

Usage:

Resin casting moulds, handmade soap moulds, plaster moulds, and concrete moulds. It is highly suitable for creating detailed reproduction moulds.
